A Month in Greece: From Culinary Arts to Sparkling Wine and New Adventures

After spending a month in sun-soaked Greece, it’s time to reflect on a few fantastic weeks. We thoroughly enjoyed welcoming wonderful guests to Villa Pasithea while also working hard on our upcoming move from Belgium to Greece, which is planned for early next year. Sacha is fully immersed in building his charter business (you can follow his progress at www.annaboatcharters.com. And I’m bursting with ideas for starting Pasithea Pottery.

Despite all the serious work, there was thankfully plenty of time for a healthy dose of adventure and, let’s be honest, lots of eating and drinking.

Catching up with old friends? Check.

A sailing trip around the Argolic Gulf? Double check.

A road trip through the Peloponnese? Absolutely, with an extra pit stop for a Greek Salad and Baked Eggplant.

But what I really want to share is my experience with Costas and Agathi from Savor Nafplio.

For the second time, I had the pleasure of discovering the secrets of Greek cuisine with them. Costas has an incredible knowledge of Greek products and knows how to turn them into the most delicious dishes. Agathi is the perfect complement, always ensuring there’s a wonderful wine ready to enjoy. So if you’re in Nafplio, definitely book an evening with them!

And this is how I got to know Betty’s winery through Agathi and Costas. What a discovery! Her sparkling wine is truly fantastic – one of the best I’ve ever tasted in the Peloponnese. So I immediately booked a visit! Betty is one of the young winemakers in the Peloponnese who loves to experiment and enthusiastically shares her story with visitors!

This month has been a beautiful mix of working towards the future, enjoying the moment, and discovering the wonderful Greek cuisine and wines.

The coming months will be all about preparation, but also further discoveries in this amazing country. With the support of friends, new acquaintances like Costas, Agathi, and Betty, and an abundance of inspiration, I’m excited to see what the future holds in Greece.
